Now that the Adamantine Arts site is getting more traffic, I wanted to implement page caching to really speed things up and prevent excessive server load. I’ll discuss page caching in Rails in more detail at another time. The problem at hand however was to get apache, mongrel, mod_proxy, and mod_rewrite to all play nice together.

I am working on the new search engine for Adamantine Arts and wanted to display the top 25 queries. I thought it would be nice to display the searches in the cool tag cloud form where the more popular the search the larger the text.

I received a comment from Jay @ Dumb Little Man tonight on my ridiculous post earlier. Luckily, he thought it was funny. I stopped by DLM again to see what was new and saw the Article Things Other People Accomplished at Your Age (which assumes your age is 23). Among them include John Singleton directing a cult classic and Truman Capote publishing his first novel. Legally, I started Adamantine Arts just before I was 23. Maybe one day, I will be on this list.

Here is a quick note that my coworker George discovered that I went around and changed in some of our development code…

It is 4AM as I write this. I have to go to one of my good friends’ wedding tomorrow so I am going to pull the plug on this night soon. However, I just wanted to say that I was working on the new Adamantine Arts Galleria that has been in progress for three or so years. Ever so slightly longer, I have been a Chevelle Fan. The three of us (The Galleria, Chevelle, and moi) had a lovely evening together. I was listening to “Wonder What’s Next” on repeat and that, plus a snake eyes and a 1am shower, kept me going until just now. Now it is time to pass out. These 20 hour days are going to kill me. Good news though – I actually got everything I intended to get done accomplished. That is a rare occasion. As a reward, here is some “new” Chevelle that I have not heard.

I wasted a small portion of the last few hours of work today with this issue and the docs everywhere were unclear. So I am going to explain really quick what happened in hopes that others don’t have to waste time with it either.
